I bought this primer after a friend of mine who is a HUGE NYX fan recommended it to me. I've been previously using a lip primer by e.l.f. and while it worked, it went on as thick as a lipstick and did not stop my liquid lipstick from bleeding. This primer does everything that the other one couldn't.
Yes, it is sheer and doesn't show up very much compared to other primers, but it doesn't really need it. I like that it goes on with a sheer chapstick feel, and I let it settle for a bit while I put on my foundation and eye shadow primer. It works like a champ keeping my lip liner and lippies from bleeding and my lips don't dry out as fast as they used to.

Pleasantly Surprised
I've used other, more expensive lip primers with so-so results. I honestly wasn't expecting much from this when I bought it, but then I tried it on under some Nyx Butter lipstick (Razzle, specifically), and was quite impressed! It made the color last much longer on my lips than just the lipstick by itself, and it stayed on through drinking water and eating a sandwich. I also tried it under some Soft Matte lip cream and it seems to be working well with it too. I think this is definitely worth it to try out if you are having problems with your lipstick fading or want to make a creamier lipstick last longer.

Very nice
I've never used a lip primer before so I thought I would try this out because the price is definitely reasonable and anything that makes my lipstick stay on longer is worth it. I got nude and am really happy with it. I usually have pretty dry lips that tend to flake and look bad after putting on some color. This not only helped my color stay on longer but it even helps from flaking! I've used it under my nyx butter lipstick and jumbo lip pencil. Not sure how it does it, but so pleased I found this. It's a new must have for me now.

AMAZING!
I bought this primer last week and finally tried it out last night and fell instantly in love! This is beyond an AMAZING product in my book. The primer helped set my lip gloss as well as help it stay on. I've been looking for something to help boost the appearance of my lips and this did it for me! It got rid of the transparent lip look/feel and gave my lips a good canvas to work on. No weird lip ridges just pure lip perfection! My lip color stayed on all night even after a full course dinner! I will never put on lipstick/lip gloss without this primer again!

Does its job!
While I really love all of my cost-conscious lip products from NYX, I'm sure we all have some more expensive lipsticks and can agree that nothing is more disappointing than smudging on a pricey product only to have it fade an hour later. I've tried other, more expensive lip primers to prevent this and, while they worked well, I hate having to buy an expensive primer when I could be spending my money on other, prettier things!
This lip primer works just as well as some of its expensive competitors - goes on smooth, doesn't pill, and doesn't feel dry. I bought it in the lighter color. While I was worried that, with only two colors, it wouldn't match my skin and would leave me with a strange base, it actually goes on a little transparent - more like a dry balm than a concealer, if that's a good example! I was skeptical when I wasn't getting an opaque nude lip after applying it, but this transparency strangely makes it a great primer - the colors look more vibrant on top of it and stay on a lot longer. I used it with my NYX Nude Pink lip liner and gloss this morning and it stayed on for 2 hours longer than it would normally, despite drinking and talking all morning. Definitely worth it!

Makes lip color opaque
My upper lip is lighter than my lower lip and that usually means my lip products don't look opaque. After using this, my lip products have the opaque look I want and more staying power. Some reviewers complained about not seeing the color, but that's the point: Not to SEE the color on your lips but to see the COLOR of the lip product.

Great To Prevent Feathering--The Best I've Found!
I use this in the Nude shade & I love it! As an older woman, I have small wrinkles around my mouth that make "feathering" a real problem. However, I've been using the Nyx Lip Primer for the last 3 years and it works marvelously. I apply it, not on my lips, but actually around the edge of the lip and just slightly inside, to contain the color, and I have never been disappointed.

Really like this
I have a super dark lip color, so anything changes shades on me nearly instantly when I put it on. nothing ever looks like the tube... until now! I can put this on first, it basically matches my skintone, and then I can apply lipstick and it looks far far closer to the actual color!
I've not noticed any staying power changes though, so I can't talk to that point on it at all. Still comes off when I blow my nose or just from drinking from a cup or eating.
